John Ockley was my nine greats-grandfather.He resided in Stretton, Salop, and was born to Edward Ockley and Elizabeth Harries c. 1590.At Alberbury on December 4, 1617,John Ockley was married to Elizabeth Briscoe, the daughter of Reginald Briscoe of Brechill, Salop.
Their children were as follows:
* JOHN. Admitted a Burgess of Shrewsbury in 1663. Buried at Shrewsbury on February 11, 1685.
* RICHARD:my ancestor. More about him in the next blog.
* WILLIAM:is mentioned in his father's will. No other information.
* Robert. Admitted a Burgess of Shrewsbury in 1676. Resided Yockleton, Shropshire. Buried at Westbury on April 7, 1715.
* Roger buried November 18, 1707.
* Elizabeth. Married William Beddow of Trewerne, Montgomeryshire.
